The project envisions an economically modest yet refined built form tailored for an industrialist and his family, balancing practicality with understated luxury. The design strategically harnesses natural light, allowing the built form itself to regulate illumination and enhance spatial quality throughout the day.
Situated along a west-facing access road and flanked by open plots on the remaining sides, the site benefits from its unique location on the city’s fringes—offering both openness and privacy. This contextual setting informs the planning approach, ensuring optimal orientation, ventilation, and visual connectivity with the surroundings.
At the core of the residence lies a dramatic double-height dining space, conceived as the social and spatial heart of the home. This volume is enriched with integrated creepers and climbers, bringing in a sense of vertical greenery and a soft biophilic character.
The introduction of green curtains acts as a climatic buffer, filtering harsh southern sunlight while maintaining a comfortable indoor environment. This layered approach to shading not only improves thermal performance but also adds depth and texture to the façade.
Overall, the design achieves a harmonious balance between cost-conscious construction, climatic responsiveness, and a contemporary architectural expression suited for a serene second home on the outskirts.
